Fun & Food in D.C

Heyy guys!! So earlier this month, a group of friends and I traveled down to D.C for the weekend for one of my friend’s birthdays. And do you know what we did? We ate. Ate and drank. Drank and ate. I’m going to be honest and say that this was the most streas free group trip I have ever taken!

Here’s how it went down!

When we first arrived, we checked into our Airbnb where Dao set out to get wines and spirits for the evening. We decided on Nando’s for food. They didn’t have much options for a fake non meat eater like myself so I ordered chicken breast with fries and a pineapple lemonade. It was pretty good. I don’t see what the hype is about persay but it was still good.

Later that evening we went to this place called Hot N Juicy Crawfish. Let me tell yall how disappointed I was. I still want my $30 back! I ordered a Catfish basket with sweet potato fries and calamari. My sweet potato fries didn’t come with butter or honey. Just dry ass fries. The calamari sat in grease. If there wasn’t almost a 2 hour wait, we would have ate there and I’m sure I would have had a better experience. But we ordered take out and I starved lmaoooo

The next morning we went to this spot called Southern Hospitality. They had endless mimosas and chileeee I only had 2 cups! Everyone else had 10 or something. Anywho, I got chicken and waffles and that was a good ass time! Definitely recommend this place!

After brunch we hit up Georgetown for Georgetown Cupcakes and the guys wanted to go to the Nike store. Davanh got us lost so we ran out of time for cupcakes before we hit up the National Museum of African American History and Culture. It was such a dope experience!! I would love to go back and really take my time!

After leaving the museum, we went back to Georgetown for the cupcakes and tried out this place called Sugar Lab which was a dessert waffle kind of place. The shop was super cute and quaint!

Wow as I’m writing this, I’m finally realizing how much we ate. Because we went out for chicken wings like an hour after we got in from cupcakes! It was Super Bowl Sunday so the guys watched the trash game and the ladies went to eat. We had Bonchon and ordered so much food! It was definitely a good time. We ordered chicken wings, Seafood fried rice, Pork Bun and fries! There’s a Bonchon in Ohio so that’ll probably be an adventure soon.

Before we left, we stopped at Ben’s Chili Bowl. I didn’t eat there because I knew I’d die on the ride back home. But overall, it was Foodie paradise! I always said DC had nasty ass food but I was proven wrong!

Have you eaten at any of these places?? Where are some of your favorite places to eat in DC?
